Aimee R. Mooney & Joseph P. Mooney Aimee and Joe Mooney are the parents of Finnigan Mooney. Finn was born with a severe congenital heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Through this experience they became aware of the prevalence of congenital heart defects (CHD) and the challenges associated with treatment. They also became aware of the considerable gap that exists between the occurrence of the condition and the financial support dedicated towards research of the condition. Therefore, they saw a significant need for development of a foundation whose primary mission is to fund research for congenital heart defects. This is the reason they started The Children’s Heart Foundation-Oregon Chapter
