| The Children's Heart
Foundation is the only organization
exclusively focused on funding the most promising research
to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital
heart defects. Medical advisors from around the United States
review applications for research funding and make decisions
based on quality, innovation and promise of research.
The Children's Heart Foundation
Oregon Chapter was formed to raise funds to
advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital
heart defects. We also hope to raise awareness of the profound
need for such research.
The Children's Heart Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since its start in 1996, it has raised nearly $3M and funded 34 research projects. The Oregon Chapter was formed in 2004 and has raised nearly $250,000 for research so far.
Nearly twice as many children die from congenital heart defects
each year in the United States as from all forms of childhood
cancer combined yet pediatric cancer research receives nearly
five times the funding. As a result, young lives are lost or significantly
compromised. It is our profound hope that we can help
make a difference for the children and their families affected
by CHD.
